1380 A.D.
Yesterday, Zhu Di ordered 100,000 of his
employees to be executed in the
palace at Nanjing. Zhu Di also had his family
and officials murdered. This was due to his low self-esteem. He thought his
people were laughing behind his back and he trusted no one.
He started out with having a secret
police spy on his officials and then later had those officials executed. That
later lead onto his political enemies executed because they did not support him
and his family. To kill the people he wanted executed, he cut off their heads
and they were places on a spiked pole and their body was skinned, stuffed with
straw and hung in their boss’ office, which is a great dishonor to them and
their family.
Still unable to trust anyone he was
loaded with a great amount of paperwork and was working day and night trying to
finish the jobs of the his dead employees. One-eighth of the day, Zhu Di had to
deal with 1,600 dispatches. He might as well be the next Shi Huangdi for such
great power and burden of his daily office work.
